Aurora Nova’s secondary tributary flows South from Loch Halmond and feeds into the Welwythn Reach, which expels the natural glacial water runoffs into the North Sea.

Unfortunately, the sidenote is that whenever anyone hears the name of the river in combination with its deep rushing sound, they apparently also need to run off and have a widdle.

The Whyss Valley remains at risk regularly of flood danger due to climate change. Flooding of (now drained) marshlands and wetlands have been increasing in frequency since 1997, experiencing as much as 10 inches in December of that year, resulting in a restoration of the Welwythn Barrier, which protects against rising tide levels.

Stepford-Upon-Whyss, a colorful distraction from Morrowvale’s giant looming cranes and bollocks (Bollards? –Ed.), is the principal township for the greater Whyss Valley. Island sheep, who have no apparent knowledge of trains, schedules, pedestrianisation of Petrel Park’s community fitness centre, or even site Wikis, have occupied the land since the earliest families can remember. As in the nursery rhyme, “Their life is the simple one, baa baa, goes the left one, all the day long.”

Then there’s Wyddlecombe, which presently contains the largest number of public baths and restroom facilities per capita across all of Britain, due largely in part to the effect of what happens to people when they hear a word like ‘Wyddlecombe.’

Cable cars and spa resort into Rimmington Spa

In 1936, the Puffin Lido was constructed at the Spas near Rimmington, with the first open air swimming pool to be unheated in 18° weather much of the year.

The History and Excavation of the Whyss Valley, ca. 1952-1955

Excavation of the Whyss Valley was a harassing and grey feat of construction, lasting through three freezing cold winters despite the abundance of workers sitting unemployed during Summer months. Jones Construction Ltd, and their pioneering use of bagger excavators also contributed to the lengthy delays, as multiple calls for entries were initiated during the post-war decade to revolutionize the Grotness construction industry, as multiple contractors presented designs for bagger excavators, which were then placed into the running for consideration, tested during the excavation project, sometimes with minimal or even detrimental effects.

The designs presented below also represent a snapshot of the course of the excavation and tunneling efforts made to join the Greater Morrowvale area and the Whyss Valley to allow for roadways to the North (and back) – and westward through to Hawfinch End and County Stantonshire, allowing for expansion towards the newer beach communities of Porksmith-on-Sea, to the south, and Grantlepool to the northwest.

Their objectives would eventually be reached as the construction of the three principal motorways of Aurora Nova – the M7, the M12 and the M15 – would be completed in time for the tourism boom of the late 1960s.

Wyddlecombe and County Ensleydale

County Darnage saw a population growth after World War Two, and suburbs in the Whyss Valley and county Darnley, expanding from Morrowvale towards the county.

One of the North Sea’s largest state owned salmon farms, feeding the entire island near Loch Melcombe.

The falls at Rimmington Spa present a danger to all who try to escape Morrowvale, at their own peril. Trade routes have never accessed the major city via river, resulting in a complex set of alternate bypasses which have been created over the centuries in order to preserve the self-serving natural beauty that is the river Welwythn.
