The Tourist Information Centre is based at the Morrowvale Visitor Centre, situated at the corner of Gosling Road and Commercial Street and is a first-stop for anyone visiting the Island, no matter how long or short your stay. The friendly staff will be happy to assist with information about Morrowvale, the island in general and answer any questions you may have, no matter how impertinent.

Street maps of Morrowvale can be obtained showing visitor facilities and attractions. Wi-Fi is available and the Visitor Shop stocks a broad range of souvenirs including locally-crafted items, stamped postcards, local tourist artwork and tourist clothing. Aspects of Aurora Nova life, history and the natural environment are also prominently on display.

A traditional red telephone box is situated outside the Centre, perfect for a photograph or even to make a phone-call to your Mum – tell her Nigel from the Council sez ‘Hi’ – cards can be purchased in the Centre. For the technologically impaired, a webcam looks out to the front of the building so you can also connect with your friends and family overseas – and random strangers in general – with a cheery wave! The Visitor Centre is easy to reach on foot from accommodation establishments in Morrowvale.

If you are arriving on a larger cruise vessel, a steward from your ship will bring you straight to the door of the Visitor Centre.

Sheltered areas with seating are situated to the front of the building with lovely views of the recycling centre. Rest awhile and look out for a stray hooker or pretend to watch for imaginary birdlife along the shore to avoid direct eye contact with the large-breasted tiny-eyed Marjorie “Bingo” Chuzzlewit, Morrowvale’s eldest call-girl, who can be seen in her pink Eldorado, custom fitted for left-side driving.

A unisex toilet/restroom is located alongside the main building, with no gender prompting or coding anywhere on the outside, so as not to make patrons feel self-conscious. Instead of featuring a man or a woman for the toilet’s icon, best to search instead for the small picture of a Eunuch hopping madly on one foot.

The Tourist Information Centre is open in summer months from 10.00 am to 12 noon and 1.00 to 4.00 pm on weekdays, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Saturdays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Sundays with extended hours on days of cruise visits except on Lent.
